We’re looking for new bloggers for our TIU Blogs webpage. Blogs will be about your personal experiences at TIU, current events held at the University, and strategies to success in the University life.  Through blogs, bloggers share their experiences of university life and help guide new students through their ups and downs.  If you’re interested in writing, this could be a great opportunity to share your student experience with a large audience and to develop your own writing skills.

Your duties and responsibilities when assigned as a TIU Blogger are:

  • To write an article for the blog on a regular basis.
  • To monitor responses to posts via the website, social media, or other platforms to better understand the audience.
  • To monitor the comments section of the blogsite for spam or offensive comments, and delete as appropriate.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Currently studying in one of the TIU Departments or a TIU Graduate.
  • Having excellent communication and written English skills, including grammar and spelling.
  • Having abilities to communicate effectively to people of all backgrounds.
  • Having positive attitude towards and enthusiasm for TIU and its programmes.
  • Being friendly and approachable.

The followings are the specifications of blog:

  • The blog needs to have a specific purpose that’s clear enough and serves an in-demand topic.
  • The blog shall be relevant to the University experience and personal to the blogger, reflecting his/her opinions and experiences.
  • Through blogs, bloggers share their experiences of university life and help guide new students through their university journey.

Technical characteriscs of the blog:

  1. Has a brief and catchy title.
  2. Should have short and meaningful paragraphs
  3. bold subheadings can be used in the blog.
  4. Supporting links can be used.
  5. The blogger’s identity and personality should shine through the blog.
  6. Blogger should always edit and proofread carefully, more than once if necessary, to make sure the content is free from spelling and grammar errors.
  7. The language of the blogs should feel natural, friendly and honest
  8. Short paragraphs, bullet points, bold text, italics, underlining, and headings can be used in the blog.
  9. Blogs require referencing.

Process of posting a blog:

  1. The Blogger clicks on the “Register” button in the TIU blogs webpage and enters all the required information.
  2. The Blogs Coordinator receives an email notifying that the blogger has registerd, then s/he review the details and approves the membership.
  3. The Blogger receives a confirmation email that his account was approved. Blogger can login to the system right away.
  4. The Blogger can set his/her profile photo when visiting “My Profile” interface.
  5. The Blogger visits “Add Post” to upload the text of the blog s/he prepared. s/he should enter all the required information about the blog.
  6. The Blogs Editor checks the blog in term of spelling and grammar and also makes sure that the blog’s content is appropriate. The Editor notifies the Coordinator that the blog is ready to be published.
  7. The Blogs Coordinator publishes the blog.
  8. The Blogs Coordinator makes sure that the blog is shared in all the TIU social media platforms.
